Direct Emission
Scope 1 GHG emissions (tCO₂e)
For Scope 1, which includes natural gas, gasoline, diesel, and refrigerants, we've taken the following steps:

(1) We've implemented solar water heating systems, which reduce our gas consumption by about 1.3% annually, equivalent to 34,000 cubic meters; (2) In the future, we're considering more diverse and larger-scale renewable energy alternatives, like replacing traditional diesel with biodiesel; and (3) For any unavoidable carbon emissions in Scope 1, we plan to offset them through carbon compensation measures.
Indirect Emission
Scope 2 GHG Emissions (tCO₂e)
Regarding Scope 2, which covers purchased electricity, heat, and steam, we aim to gradually increase the proportion of renewable electricity until we achieve 100% green electricity for Scope 2.

Our actions include: (1) Purchasing and procuring 10 billion kWh of green electricity for use in our Hebei data centers over five years; (2) Expanding distributed photovoltaic construction. Upon the completion of the distributed photovoltaic project for Baidu's office buildings this year, it's expected to generate around 2.6 million kWh of clean electricity annually for administrative offices. 3) Building our own renewable energy power stations, if conditions allow, that would provide a stable supply of clean energy for data centers; and (4) We consider the value of science-based targets and are committed to continuously optimize energy efficiency in an internationally recognized manner with the goal to transition towards 100% renewable energy. 5) We implemented efficiency and energy-saving measures in data centers encompassing strategies like PUE(Power Usage Effectiveness ) and the adoption of immersion cooling, and also smart energy-saving solutions leveraging AI implemented for energy-saving, alongside the incorporation of solar power generation.
Other Indirect Emissions
Scope 3 GHG Emissions (tCO₂e)
For Scope 3, which involves electricity from leased data centers and commuting buses, we're committed to replacing 100% of existing electricity with green electricity. Baidu has joined the EV100 initiative, making commitment in transitioning fleets to electric vehicles. We want to highlight that our commuting buses has already been fully transitioned to electric vehicles, and next step, we plan to supply green electricity for those electric vehicles. For leased data centers, we will initially achieve energy conservation and emission reductions through technology output and computing power migration, followed by transitioning to green electricity. Additionally, through our Green Partner Program, we promote carbon reduction across the supply chain and society as a whole.
